Golden glass takes it from every direction: loose rock and gravel trucks in Clear Creek Canyon, traction sand coming down I-70 from the mountains, and Front Range hail every summer. We drive up from our Belleview shop to replace windshields and fix rock chips anywhere in Golden — no mobile fee.

Bear Creek Auto Glass provides free mobile windshield replacement and rock chip repair throughout Golden, Colorado (80401 and 80403), plus side glass, back glass and ADAS camera calibration. The shop is at 11614 W Belleview Ave in Littleton, usually about 20 minutes away by C-470 and US-6. Call (303) 875-7679, Monday–Friday 9am–5pm.
Golden sits right where the plains run into the foothills, and its windshields live that way too. Commuters drop down US-6 out of Clear Creek Canyon, weekend drivers come back down I-70 behind sand trucks, and Highway 93 carries a steady stream of trucks north toward Boulder. All of that throws rock.
We come to you. Whether the car is parked on Washington Avenue, in a School of Mines lot, or in a driveway in Mesa Meadows, we bring the glass, the tools and the urethane, and we do the job right there.
A chip caught early is usually a quick repair, often covered by comprehensive insurance at no cost to you. A crack that has started to run is a replacement, and every windshield we replace carries our lifetime workmanship warranty.
Our shop sits on West Belleview near the foot of the foothills. C-470 runs north from our side of town straight to the US-6 junction, and US-6 rolls right into Golden. It is one of the easiest drives we make — and Golden drivers get a family-owned shop instead of a call center.

The roads we hear about most from Golden drivers, and what they do to glass.
| Road or area | What hits the glass | What we usually see |
|---|---|---|
| US-6, Clear Creek Canyon | Rockfall, loose shoulder gravel, tight curves | Star breaks and long edge cracks |
| I-70 from Genesee and the mountains | Winter traction sand, heavy ski traffic | Pitting, sand-blasted glass, small chips |
| Highway 93 north of town | Truck traffic and open shoulders | Bullseye chips at highway speed |
| C-470 and US-6 junction | Merging highway traffic, construction debris | Chips that spread in cold weather |
| Highway 58 and Washington Ave | Commuter stop-and-go, campus parking | Door-ding side glass and small chips |
Colorado winters
Golden drivers know the pattern: a cold front comes in, CDOT puts down sand and deicer on the canyon roads and I-70, and the next week the windshields show it. A small chip that sat quietly all fall can run across the glass the first morning you blast the defroster on cold glass.
Temperature swings are the trigger. Glass expands and contracts unevenly, and a chip is a weak point that concentrates that stress. That is why we push to repair chips before the first hard freeze, not after.
| What you see | Usually | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Chip under about a quarter, no cracks leading out | Usually repairable | Fix it now, before a cold snap |
| Chip with short legs starting to spread | Often repairable if caught early | Call this week |
| Crack longer than a few inches, or in the driver's view | Replacement | Book a replacement — we come to you |

Hail season
Front Range hail does not skip the foothills. When a storm comes through Golden, it is usually a windshield-and-sunroof day for a lot of people at once. Hail damage to glass falls under the comprehensive part of an auto policy, subject to your deductible — and you choose the shop.
Under Colorado Revised Statutes § 10-4-613, an insurance company cannot require that your auto glass work be performed at a particular facility as a condition of paying your claim, and it cannot use intimidation, coercion or threats to steer you to a specific vendor.
They're allowed to recommend. They are not allowed to require. Tell them you've chosen Bear Creek Auto Glass.

Directions
From 11614 W Belleview Ave we take C-470 north to the US-6 junction, then US-6 west into Golden. On a normal weekday that is about 20 minutes, which is why most Golden jobs are mobile: we come to your home, your office or a campus lot.
Prefer to come to us? Reverse it: US-6 east to C-470 south, exit toward West Belleview, and we are on Belleview just east of the foothills. Covered, in-shop installs are a good choice on the coldest days.
