Don't leave it taped up for a week. Plastic sheeting over an open window is a signal, not a solution. It also lets weather into the door cavity where the regulator and wiring live, which turns a glass bill into a glass-and-electrical bill.

The part cheap shops skip
Safe drive-away time is the minimum period after installation before the urethane has cured enough for the bond to retain the windshield in a crash and support passenger airbag deployment. It's tied to federal motor vehicle safety standards, and the auto glass industry's own safety standard requires that you be told that time both before and after the install.
Here's what matters in Denver: it isn't a fixed hour. It's a chemical reaction, and cold slows it dramatically. Cure time roughly doubles for every 15 to 18°F the temperature drops. An adhesive rated around one hour at 70°F can need eight hours or more at 35°F. Most adhesives aren't rated for use below 40°F at all.

Hail falls under comprehensive coverage, same as rock chips and theft, and it's not a collision claim. If your windshield took hail, have the back glass and any sunroof looked at too — those take hits drivers often don't notice for weeks.

If it has a forward-facing camera on the windshield for lane keeping, adaptive cruise, automatic emergency braking or collision alerts, then generally yes. Most vehicles from roughly 2018 on have some of it. Calibration is static (level floor, manufacturer targets), dynamic (a prescribed road drive), or both. Static calibration can't be done on a street or in a driveway, so those vehicles come to the Littleton shop for that portion. It's in the quote up front either way.
Usually, if it's smaller than a quarter, any crack is under about six inches, it's not in your direct line of sight, and it hasn't run to the edge. Repair takes about thirty minutes and preserves your original factory seal. Denver's daily temperature swings spread chips fast, so the odds of repair being possible drop the longer you wait.
